Fire Alarm Control Systems, Inc. has the resources to provide many types of specialized detection technologies. This allows FACS the ability to provide a solution for almost any situation.

Aspiration (Air Sampling) Sensing – If your detection needs require high sensitivity smoke detection, the use of aspirating detectors may be the choice. The single detector consists of a laser detector and a piping network to transport the air samples to the detection chamber. There it is processed and if warranted by the site specific parameters, signals will be generated and the appropriate actions can be taken. These type detectors are typically 1000 times more sensitive than the standard open area smoke sensor.

Beam Detection – Beam detectors provide another means to protect large areas. They can be mounted in atriums, mechanical rooms, storage facilities or any space where spot type smoke detection would be impractical due to an accessibility issue. Since the transmitter and receiver mount on opposite walls, accessibility is not a concern in most applications.


Video Smoke Detection – This technology has erupted recently to provide a means of visually detecting the presence of fire and smoke at its source, independent of airflow while using standard CCTV cameras. Areas of detection can be tailored to the specific hazards and challenging environments to ensure the best detection solutions.
